BBO – Bridge Base Online App Reviews

This app is good if you are on a trip or in a waiting room, etc. IMO, its not meant to take the place of a computer. I use it to kib (watch) great players or take a bridge lesson.

Often the robot plays completely wrong. For example: when I am the dummy, the robot will play a king from my hand and an ace from the declarers hand. Or the robot will not play an ace over the opponents king, losing the trick. Extremely frustrating.

The buttons on the phone version are minuscule. To use only in emergency!!!!! :)))))))

The robot as a partner makes some of the most ridiculous plays, Not fun to play

Its very difficult to find ways to buy BBS$ and use them to rent robots. The iPad app seems to be missing many things from the web app. Simpler just to use a browser.

What is omitted from the new features list is that this version adds banner ads the playing table. Some are even animated, creating a constant distraction. Its very easy to accidentally touch an ad and launch it, plus the ad causes some do the screen area to be lost at top and bottom. If you log in instead of playing anonymously you lose the ads but cannot play against robots any more. If you have a previous version of BB dont upgrade to this one!

When I updated Bridge Base Online today, my app was completely removed. Whats the problem?

They are incrementally improving this so try it again. You can now do pretty much everything, including playing others. Would like them to add BB$ ability - I dont see any way to add money and you cant use the website on iOS because it requires Flash.

Wont finish loading so I can use it???

I found the app pleasant to use on my iPad but there are several areas for improvement. Heres a few 1. Claiming does not work correctly. I neither see the correct claim made by the declarer nor his hand 2. Arrange the suit card first from the right in dummys hand 3. Make tournament chat less disrupting (dont overlay it on top of bidding/play) Keep up the good work :-)

This is definitely getting better. Last time,I downloaded,can only play with robot. Now it is real people, real game different format of scoring and tournament. Some of the content could be displayed in relatively smaller font to make it less interruptive. Team game and tournament host function are really appreciated. I will download again when that is available.

I keep getting disconnected! Cant get a good game started because I will be disconnected in the middle of bid or play and am not able to return to the same table.

I have played bridgebase online for quite sometime, usually anonymously. I mostly like it a great deal, but dont understand why my 2 NT response to partners 1NT results in partners rebid of 3 Clubs. Ive never seen that as a convention anywhere. My big complaint is that lately the game will freeze and I have to abandon the play of that hand and redeal. This seems to be happening quite frequently now. Without this problem my rating would be higher.

The ads at the top is very distracting. The new visuals for the game itself are unattractive in my opinion. So I am deleting. It was fun while it lasted.

Horrible game play now. In old version, only issue was lag with viewing prior boards - everything else was pretty solid. Now, playing cards is awful - need to "double" click in a very small space to play a card, and you are constantly accidentally clicking the wrong card. Why change the part that wasnt broken? This was quite a good app until the upgrade.

The new update is a disaster. Aside from its crowded look and feel, it doesnt work. Double-tapping a card doesnt select and play it, it selects the target card and then selects a different card. The update info says one can now drag a card to play it, but that doesnt work either. Ive been playing in -- and paying for --tournaments several times a week, but with this downdate, Ill have to stop that.

Horrible update.......

Great functionality, flawless matchmaking. Could use a graphical update.
