If you register, you can play for free with and against other real live players or sit and kibitz while watching them play.

There is never an obligation to spend money, though you can choose to pay a nominal registration fee for real live world-wide tournaments, personalized tutoring in the Beginner and Intermediate Lounge (BIL) public club room, etc.
